Yes! It’s finally here! Took forever but it’s finally here! And I got four since I love Phase One the best. And I love the box art a lot too!

~And, my excitement went into a debate within me. Is this really a 2.0? Yes, it is completely a new sculpt but it’s not like it’s a major upgrade. I don’t mind about the single joint if it does the job. I mean the new single-joint elbow has the same or better articulation angle than the old double-jointed one. But the knee is bad. I mean, the knee protector just looks weird when you bend the knee.

The helmet is the most “WTF” thing for a phase one lover like myself. Since they were fully a 3D model in the movie, they are supposed to look super sharp. Especially the helmet. But because Hasbro used a very soft plastic for the helmet, the details are very faded and looks quite cheap. The older Clone figure used hard plastic and was far sharper.

That all said, the more narrow shoulder makes them look far realistic than the version 1 figures. It actually does look like someone’s inside that suit. And when they are used as background fillers, the problems will also kind of fade away too.

Especially when you have them face against the Droid army, no one’s paying attention to the poorly designed knee joint!

And if you want to recreate the AOTC theme, you must have Clone army for sure. Having four or more is quite mandatory at this point lol.

That said, I always need to play with figures from another franchise because that’s the most joyful thing about collecting action figures. You can let go your imagination without cooperate restrictions.

If you have Figuarts Clone, he’ll be slightly smaller and his helmet is definitely way small so it is hard to not see that. And Mafex one is simply too huge. But when I compared the helmet from the Bandai model kit, it seems that is a fine matchup. However, obviously, the Bandai model kit is far superior in quality.

YEEEEEES!!
More mashup! I wonder how would the Clone army or Galactic empire react to aliens. We need a movie about that!

For some reason, this photo keeps flipping when I upload it to the blog page but you get the point.

Overall, it’s a decent figure. Not perfect at all. Not even close. That goes to the Bandai model kit and I don’t see any figure dethroning in the near future. But it is a nice filler for sure and I am happy having them.
