The box art is great. The color, the promotional images, everything wonderful. This is a re-release of the 2014 figures but in an animation color. I don’t actually understand what that means since the 2014 figures were based on the animated versions. That said, the color is more vibrant.
The soft pastel-like colors they used for the box is beautiful. I was really hoping Bandai to release a completely new sculpt but apparently, they recycled the old mold and I wasn’t very happy about that. But I don’t think they will offer anything new for a while so I decided to grab what I can.
I don’t praise the base that comes with the figure but I thought these are sweet. Not much effective as a base due to the design but it’s very fitting.
Here’s your icon of the franchise Sailor Moon. She’s not my cup of tea. Actually, she’s the lowest of all the Sailor Warrior who I will choose because she’s quite… naggy but she is definitely the strongest and someone who has probably inspired the most girls to be a hero. In anime that is and for that, I have great respect for her.
This Animation Color edition really pops. It’s surprising that such an outdated mold still can spark just by a simple color swap. And Sailor Mars is a crucial member of the team. We always need a hothead like Ralph (TMNT). She’s actually my brother’s preference and he always liked a girl who can kick you around.
My 2nd favorite out of the five is Sailor Venus. A warrior who has been fighting a war against evil before Usagi ever became Sailor Moon. When she first appeared, she was a total badass but for some reason, she became Usagi 2.0 and became naggy which made me a bit sad. And I do really like all the figure’s facial print.
Sailor Jupiter is awesome. The boyish big sister type and without a girl like that, I don’t think such a gathering with a chaotic personality will work. And her green and pink really do match. I don’t know why but Jupiter always runs after any boys she meets. Just wait for another ten years girl. Boys won’t really become a true man until they hit the 30s.
WHHHHHHY don’t we have a smiling face for Sailor Moon!? I would replace her nagging face with her smile face! And she’s the figure with the least accessories. Like her hand options are very minimal comparing to other Sailor Warrior. Yes, she comes with Lunar but Venus comes with Althemis and she still has more hands option. At least give us her iconic tiara.
Ah, I forgot, here are Lunar and Althemis using the same mold but different paints and prints. They do not articulate at all btw but no one’s complaining I suppose.
The beautiful Sailor Warriors are here to save your day! Pandemic? Oh well, we suck at that! But we can still kick some villain’s ass!!
Apparently, Sailor Moon is a Universal buster? I only watched the first era of Sailor Moon so I don’t know how deep their power levels went but if they do, my god they will kick some serious threat.
Phew phew phew!!! Universal class warriors beating the heck out of you! Obviously, they got the idea from the Japanese Sentai series but if the Universal busting is true, even if all the Sentai heroes combined, they would have no chance against these cute girls.
At first, I thought their legs are a bit too long but actually, it’s quite accurate to the anime. They are supposed to belong as hell. And some insecure people complain a lot about how they dress up but the manga is created by a female author so yea, don’t blame the guys. And I think both girls and boys aren’t complaining. I mean if you aren’t one of those SJW that is…
Everyone knows who Iron Man is but actually, no one knows who the Sailor Warriors are even when they take a photo of them. That’s because once they change into the Sailor Warrior, they’re face looks different and that was discussed in the anime before. For the audience, their face looks identical before and after they transform. It’s a clever storytelling method.
Sailor Mars is a Miko. A Japanese shrine protector. And Japanese shrines usually symbolize water so it’s quite weird her having the power of fire. Probably because Miko’s dress is red and white.
This was such an intensive review! I was very much tired out setting up the diorama, taking photos, doing a video review, making a blog, and a video.
I found that they are doing another movie for Sailor Moon but I really do want them to do a reboot with the original voice actors. They kind of did use the manga version but it wasn’t popular due to the very unique art style. Instead, I am sure it will do quite well remaking it with the most updated anime technologies.
