MARVEL S.H. FIGUARTS: BIRTH OF IRON MAN EDITION: IRON MAN MARK 3 & Hall of Armor PREMIUM BANDAI EXCLUSIVE

I am ironman

Tony has a ton of Ironman suit variations but mark 3 is perhaps the most important in MCU since it was what sold the franchise to the new fans of Marvel Comics.

This is exactly the same figure that was sold in 2016. It is a rerelease but with updated paint to be more accurate to the film. It is a Soul Web exclusive but I do think it should have been a regular retail release.

The figure comes with a pair of blast effects for his feet and two pairs of blast effect for the palm. Total of four pairs of hands including default fist hands. And last but not the least, an open flap piece for flight assist.

The mold of this figure isn’t new but surprisingly it doesn’t look dated at all. Mark 1 and 6 are already re-released with updated paint and updated mark 7 will be coming April 2021. I am sure we will be receiving mark 2, 4, and 5 in the future too and I look forward to it.

Dedicated hands for the blast effects are quite effective. Just that all the hands must share the same hand protector piece and swapping that around each time is a bit of hassle. I wonder why didn’t Bandai just give every hand a piece of hand protectors.

The figure articulate very well. In fact, I think Ironman figures have the best articulation in the MCU Figuarts line. Adding, the foot is a diecast so posing the figure without it falling is quite easy.

The blast effects for the foot come off easily but the nightmare is the open flat piece for the back. It flies off so regularly that you may lose it without you noticing.

I have the entire hall of armor with Ironman suits for 1/6 scale Hot Toys but I don’t mind replacing those with S.H.Figuarts ones. That’s how much I praise this Mark 3.

It’s sad that the only decent MCU Ultron we got is from Revoltech. I mean Hasbro one is hideous! Revoltech one looks nice and the articulation is fantastic but he is quite small. Bandai, it’s your chance! Give us your version since Revoltech Ultron is now sold for a premium price!

Tony may not be able to beat Cap in hand to hand combat nor in war/battle strategy but we all can agree that Tony will easily devastate Cap in a video game.

If there is one this I must complain about this figure, it is the height. He’s a bit way too short and his hip is way too tight for a person to be inside that armor.

Some look at Cap or Bucky to be less intelligent than normal but an idiot cannot be a leader nor a successful soldier/assassin. They are nothing near Tony when it comes to intelligence but surely Cap and Bucky are well beyond regular humans when it comes to their intelligence. That said, nope. Bucky has no chance in a video game battle against Tony.

Now, I am also reviewing Hall of Armor from Bandai too. This is another Soul Web Exclusive and yes, I will be needing a total of seven.

The LED is a bit weak but it does the job. And because we finally got Mark 1 out, we can complete the S.H.Figuarts Hall of Armor!

I can’t wait to get the rest of the paint updated Ironman figures! Even when the mold isn’t new, the new paint really makes it shine a lot more!

Now, my Mark 7 is arriving from Japan but due to the pandemic, it will take way longer than usual. But no worry. I have a ton of other figures to review and play.
