Hasbro Marvel Legends: VENOM Unboxing Photo Review

So many snacks...

Hasbro finally gave us the Marvel Legends movie Venom figure!
And we have waited for this character for a while. I mean it’s already 2 years after the movie came out!

Before starting, I will say this.
This figure is INSANELY AMAZING!

The box design is movie inspired and it looks great. The box itself is a standard Marvel Legends but the fonts and promo pics make this look like a higher-end version.

~And this figure is MASSIVE! Especially if I compare with Mafex MCU Spiderman (because it’s the best of its kind), it is like a baby versus a wrestler.

If you have soldier figures with some special effect parts, you can recreate the scene where Venom tanking any shots he was thrown.

Also, this figure comes with two heads and two pairs of hands. No BAF but I appreciate extra hands and head over BAF that will be released as a single pack in the future anyway.

I am not against Tom Hollin but considering his Spiderman is quite naive and panicky, I don’t see any chance for him beating Tom Hardey Venom. Nope. Absolutely no chance.

Don’t worry kids! We have the experienced comic-book Spiderman here to save the day!
That said, I am sure Tom Hardey Venom will be a nightmare to even the comic version Spidey.

This figure is amazing! The articulation is top-notch! It could be the best-articulated figure from Marvel Legends EVER.
It has far better poseable than most import figures including S.H. Figuarts. The only thing it lacks is the butterfly joints and toe joints but that will add extra cost. ~Which I have no problem paying if they decide to release one with that many articulations. Recently we got butterfly joints for other figures from Hasbro too.

This is one of my favorite shots.
That Todd McFarlane touch Venom poses with blue light to enhance its creepy smile.

Seriously, this figure has top rank body proportion as well as sculpt and articulation. It is my choice of the best Hasbro figure of 2020. If you have not got one, you should run to your local store or order online before you miss out!!

I hear a rumor of Tom Hollin MCU Spiderman facing Sony’s Venom and I am not surprised. They should. But Sony and Disney aren’t that friendly. Sony is one of the biggest contributors to saving Marvel Comics when they were facing bankruptcy when no one else cared to helped them.

Sony and Fox bought the film rights to these characters and paid Marvel to make them afloat. We cannot ignore the fact that MCU happened because of so many things and Sony saving the Marvel Comic is one big factor. Adding, Fox’s X-Men and Sony’s Sam Ramie Spider-Man is what made the base foundation for the MCU. For that, I respect Sony a lot.

That said, there is definitely bad blood between Disney and Sony. Disney does not want to share anything with anyone and that’s something not new. And Sony wanted MCU power for their Spiderman since, after Sam Ramie, they couldn’t release any decent superhero movies. But because of the success of Venom and the animated Spiderverse, it is not a surprise that Sony may depart from MCU after Spiderman 3.

Especially when MCU Spiderman 3 sounds like it is going to open a gate for the Spiderverse by having Dr. Strange, Sony may simply remove Spiderman from MCU and launch a major live-action Spiderverse and Spiderman franchise. I mean, Spiderman has so many characters and he has the most interesting villain roster in Marvel Comic, Sony can make endless Spiderman related films.

I do hope Sony and Disney can shake hands somehow. Honestly, Sony will do ok without MCU if they launch a successful Spiderman franchise but MCU without Spiderman is a big loss. I mean, almost every major event in Marvel Comic includes the web-slinger. But it’s hard when Disney never like to share (and I say this even I am a Disney investor) and someone like Sony’s Amy Pascal who is all about “ME ME ME ME ME!” comes to the table. We all know Sam Ramie’s Spiderman 3 wasn’t good due to studio interference (IE: Amy Pascal) even they made a ton of money out of it.

But anyhow, going back to this awesome figure, here are some comparisons! And I think they nailed it with this figure!

Mafex classic Venom and Revoltech Venom are just too small while Hasbro’s monster Venom looks like his shoulder got dislodged.

Man! This figure is so much fun, so much it can do and WHY AREN’T YOU GETTING IT!? GO GO GO! GO GET IT RIGHT NOW!! This is the new stage of Marvel Legends for sure!

Now, meanwhile, we wait for Sony’s Venom 2 and MCU Spiderman 3, let’s hope that Disney and Sony can somehow shake hands again. After the Endgame, it is no question that MCU lost a lot of its energy and the core characters. Having Spiderman and all those characters would definitely benefit MCU for sure! Considering Disney isn’t doing well financially at all, the Mouse might be a bit more flexible in sharing. And Sony may benefit too having Spiderman in all those major events!

What? This blog wasn’t much about figure review? Honestly, there wasn’t much to talk about. This figure is one of the best Hasbro figures I have experienced. I might even say it IS THE BEST. My Youtube Video review the articulation and height comparison with other figures and my blog is usually filled with additional information and figure diorama photos, but seriously, this figure is so good that I really don’t have much to add. If you are concerned about getting it, my advice is to stop thinking. Go buy it and thank me later. You will love it.

The next review will be merk with the mouth coming very very soon!
Stay tune my friends!
