Merc with a mouth! Deadpool was an unexpected addition to superhero film and it was a very welcoming one. Honestly, I am still not fully use to the live-action version. I mean, he’s so much skinnier than the comic. Yes, yes I know it is not possible for an actor to be as bulked as a comic superhero but Ryan Renold Deadpool is simply just way too skinny in my eyes. Like Chris, Evan isn’t buffed like the comic version Captain America but he is buffed enough to look like a realistic Steve Rogers. So I was hoping Deadpool to have a body shape similar to Chris Evan. That said, Deadpool movie only worked because of how much passion Ryan Renold put into it. So I better start getting used to it. Like RDJ, Ryan Renold made Deadpool is own.
This figure is so much fun! Not because the figure is great. Honestly, it sucks. Why? Well, Hot Toys ain’t really good at making a well-articulated figure. Especially when it comes to leather tight costume. The worst part is, the wrist cloth will begin to tear off if you keep swapping the hands. And this is ridiculous. For the price that they charge, this level of the quality issue should never happen. And apparently this is very common for this Deadpool figure. Also, this Deadpool has swappable eyes but mine has a defect. The left eye does not come off.
That all said, it’s still a very fun figure to play with. Deadpool can be played with almost any other figure. He’s a troll. So having him do crazy stupid things adds so much fun to the scene.
Would I recommend this figure? Nope. It has too many QC issues. Actually, a lot of Hot Toys figure has major QC issues. I even doubt the maker never even bother to play with the prototype before running it into mass production. That’s how bad some of the Hot Toys figures are when it comes to quality. But if you want to take funny scenery, it’s kinda must to have Deadpool in your collection. So I hope Hot Toys fix their problem when they decide to make another Deadpool.
